Ralph Carnes claimed the official victory in the 50 lap Late Model race ran at the Anderson Motor Speedway on Friday night July 16, 2010. The initial attempt to start the Late Model race was halted due to a rain shower. Once the track was dried by a couple of the lower divisions’ racing action the Late Models gave it another try. David Roberts grabbed the lead as soon as the green flag dropped. Anthony Anders dropped into the second position and ran nose to tail with Roberts until lap ten when the two made contact down the backstretch and Roberts ended up in the inside wall. Roberts got out of his car and made a dash to confront Anders on the track but speedway officials removed him before an altercation started. Due to the sustained damage to his car Roberts was unable to return to the race. This incident placed Carnes at the front of the field where he remained the remainder of the race. Following the Anders, Roberts confrontation Anders restarted at the back of the field. As he was trying to move back to the front he and Mitchell Mote made contact which sent him into the front stretch wall. Following the altercation on the track there was an incident in the pits which is a no no in racing and it will result in some disciplinary action. Once the track officials put a quick end to the melee in the pits racing resumed with Carnes pulling away from the field and taking his second victory in a row. Neil Meredith overcame an early race spin to finish second. Jeremy Burnes finished third. Anthony Cordell finished fourth. Daniel Smith finished fifth.
Matt Meyers and Chad Parries claimed the official victories in the B-M Modified Twin 12 lap races. Meyers led every lap of the first race and was unchallenged for the top spot throughout. Chad Parries moved to the second position near the half way point and closed on Meyers but the laps ran out before he made a challenge for the lead. Chad Parries finished second. Alan Mitchell finished third. Tim Stokes finished fourth. Will Ragsdale finished fifth. In the second main Tim Stokes grabbed the initial lead and held it until he was passed by Chad Parries. Once out front Parries pulled away from the field and took his second victory of the season. Tim Stokes finished second. Alan Mitchell finished third. Andy Nance finished fourth. Matt Meyers finished fifth.
Whitey Suttles claimed the official victory in the Super Renegade division. BJ Tollison grabbed the lead at the start of the race with Whitey Suttles dropping into the second position. Suttles closed on Tollison the next four laps and bypassed Tollison on lap five. A couple of laps later Barry Tollison moved to the second position and began to close on Suttles. Tollison got to within a couple of car lengths of Suttles but that was as close as he could get before the race ended. Barry Tollison finished second. BJ Tollison finished third. Dave Beckner finished fourth. Kyle Dill finished fifth.
Anthony Cordell claimed the official victory in the “Talking Phonebook” Renegades division. Jamie McCall led the first five laps but lost the lead to Jim Reynolds following a restart on lap six. Anthony Cordell moved past McCall on the same lap to take over the second position. Reynolds held the lead until lap ten when Cordell made his move and battled past him at the end of the lap. Once out front Cordell pulled away to take the victory. Jim Reynolds finished second. Jamie McCall finished third. Mark Sullivan finished fourth. Al Stokes finished fifth.
Mark Timmerman claimed the official victory in the B-Mini Stock division. BJ Thrasher led the first half of the race with Mark Timmerman all over him. Timmerman made his move soon after the half way mark and battled past Thrasher. A couple of laps later Thrasher blew the motor in his car. Following the track clean up Timmerman held off Chad Campbell to secure the victory. Chad Campbell finished second. Chuck Mitchell finished third. David Darnell finished fourth. Ben Kay finished fifth.
Avery Burgess claimed the official victory in the C-Mini Stock division. Burgess pulled away from the field and led every lap of the race and went unchallenged during the fifteen lap race. The battle was for the second position between Mark Burdette and Jack Kelley. The two battled repeatedly with Burdette taking the position in the end. Mark Burdette finished second. Jack Kelley finished third. David Alewine finished fourth. Jordan Skinner finished fifth.
