Seventy three year old M.E. “Whitey” Suttles claimed the official victory in the Racers Edge/Vickery Speed Shop Super Renegade race ran at the Anderson Motor Speedway on Friday night May 14, 2010. The victory was the first of the season for Suttles as he became the oldest driver to take a victory at the speedway plus it put an end to the Tollison father and son win streak. Whitey Suttles and Barry Tollison Jr battled side by side down the back stretch on the first lap of the race. As the two went to drive into turn three there was contact and Suttles spun and then Tollison Jr nailed the side of his car. Tollison Jr was black flagged. Barry Tollison Sr had dropped out of the race on the first attempt to start the race and TJ Suttles dropped out following the wreck. This left Suttles and Greg Darnell as the only competitors to run the race. Suttles grabbed the lead immediately and led every lap on his way to victory. Greg Darnell finished second. TJ Suttles finished third. Barry Tollison finished fourth.
Anthony Cordell claimed the official victory in the $500 to win Spring Championship race for the “Talking Phonebook” Renegades division. The victory was the first of the season for Cordell. The Renegade drivers qualified their cars for the special twenty five lap race. Brian Powell was the fastest qualifier with a time of 18.361 second. Unfortunately for Powell he drew a number eight and the top eight cars were inverted for the start of the race. This placed Mike Childress on the pole. Childress led the first laps before he lost the lead to Ricky Burnett. Burnett led the next five laps before he relinquished the lead to Cordell. Once out front Cordell pulled away from the field and led the remainder of the race. Ricky Burnett finished second. Mike Childress finished third. Jim Reynolds finished fourth. Kenneth Bearden finished fifth.
Mark Timmerman claimed the official victory in the B-Mini Stock division. BJ Thrasher led the first three laps of the race before he was bypassed by Timmerman. Once out front Timmerman led the remainder of the laps and took his second victory of the season. BJ Thrasher finished second. Chuck Mitchell finished third. Wayne Hammond finished fourth. Ben Kay finished fifth.
Matt Meyers claimed the official victory in the B-M Modified division. The victory was the third in a row for Meyers. Skyler Queen led the first fourteen laps of the race while Matt Meyers continually beat on his rear bumper. Meyers made his move on lap thirteen and passed Queen as the two exited turn four on the final lap. Skyler Queen finished second. Casey Tucker finished third. Bryce Malcom finished fourth. Andy Nance finished fifth.
Austin Aker claimed the official victory in the C-Mini Stock division. The victory was the second of the season for Aker. Aker led every lap and easily out paced his nearest competitor and takes the victory by about fifteen car lengths. Austin Northcutt finished second. Jack Kelley finished third. Avery Burgess finished fourth. Mark Johnston finished fifth.
RS Senter claimed the official victory in the 600 Legends race . Senter took the overall victory and the victory in the Semi Pro portion of the race. Austin Leitner led the first lap of the race before he relinquished the top position to Senter. Once out front Senter pulled away from the field. Austin Leitner finished second. Randy Gunton finished third and took the victory in the Masters portion of the race. Brandon Simpson finished fourth and took the victory in the Pro portion of the race. Justin Thomas finished fifth.
